Dr. Davida Crossley has gone far since working as a Mississippi INBRE Academic-Year Scholar. Dr. Crossley did her research in the lab of Dr. Glen Shearer at The University of Southern Mississippi during her undergraduate and graduate careers. Upon receiving her doctorate from USM, she began teaching at Alcorn State University as an assistant professor of biology. During her four years at ASU, she had a biomedical research laboratory supported by Mississippi INBRE where she monitored both undergraduate and graduate student research projects.

Currently, Dr. Crossley is an assistant professor of biology at Louisiana State University, Alexandria. She teaches cell biology, genetics and microbiology. She is continuing her research as she has a biomedical research lab where she studies the dimorphic fungi Histoplasma capsulatum.

Congratulations, Dr. Crossley! We are so proud of your advances in research and in your career since being a part of the Mississippi INBRE Scholars program!
