On April 19, 2018, Mississippi INBRE hosted a bioinformatics workshop at Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, Miss. This workshop trained 20 undergraduate students from Tougaloo College.

Mississippi INBRE conducts “Traveling Bioinformatics Workshops” at Primarily Undergraduate Institutions with instruction by our Bioinformatics Coordinator, Dr. Gyan Sahukhal. The Mississippi INBRE Bioinformatics Workshops are designed to give undergraduate students hands-on training on the basics of bioinformatics to prepare them for advanced biomedical graduate study. This training activity aims to enable the students to handle the basic genomics and proteomics tools in order to analyze and interpret biological data.
