2026 Research Scholars Application

** Applicants must be a Mississippi resident (or attending an in-state institution), 18 years of age or older, a US citizen, classified as an undergraduate at their institution and have passed two science courses with a lab component to apply. Students who will have taken and passed two science courses with a lab component by the end of the Spring 2026 semester are also eligible to apply. **

  • Mentor Preference

    Please list your three chosen mentors by order of preference. If you are accepted to the program, Mississippi INBRE personnel will assign you to one of the three chosen mentors. Student mentor assignment is based on multiple factors, including student preference, mentor’s current lab space/personnel openings at the time of application and mentor demand, among other variables.
