Recruit excellence with Mississippi INBRE! Mississippi INBRE provides funds for eligible Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs) in Mississippi to hire research-active, tenure-track junior faculty. 

Recruitment funds are awarded over a two-year period, providing $75,000 in support during the first year and an additional $25,000 during the second year, for a total of $100,000 in support.

Since its establishment in 2001, Mississippi INBRE has dramatically enhanced research activity at Mississippi PUIs by supporting the recruitment of junior faculty. Mississippi INBRE’s efforts have resulted in substantial increases in student research involvement and grant submissions to federal agencies, sparking an evolution of research culture at PUIs across the state.
