Mississippi University for Women student, Oluwabukola Omotola worked in the lab of Research Development Grant recipient, Dr. Ghanshyam Heda for two years while working on her Bachelor’s degree. While working in Dr. Heda’s lab, Oluwabukola co-authored published research entitled, “Effects of reusing gel electrophoresis and electrotransfer buffers on western blotting.” She also co-authored six abstracts.

Oluwabukola presented her research at the 79th Annual Mississippi Academy of Sciences meeting. She received 2nd place for her oral presentation and 3rd place for her poster presentation.

Oluwabukola is currently a graduate student in biology at the University of Kentucky at Lexington, KY.
