Mississippi INBRE sponsored the 86th annual Mississippi Academy of Sciences Meeting, held on March 31, 2022 – April 1, 2022, at the Mississippi Coast Convention Center in Biloxi, MS. The meeting hosted over 400 presentations in oral and poster format, as well as 19 additional speakers. Over 1,200 attended the conference, including Mississippi State Department of Health officials, faculty, staff, and students from across the state.

Highlights include an update on COVID-19 by Mississippi State Epidemiologist Paul Byers and the Dodgen Lecture by David Shaw, PhD, titled The Wicked Nature of Global Food Security and Sustainability Challenges.

MAS is the premiere conference for scientists across Mississippi concerning a variety of research topics, and its 86th meeting was no exception. Mississippi INBRE is proud to play such an important role by sponsoring it each and every year.
